Multi Artist - ambassador - inspiration

The Sami artist Nils-Aslak (1943-2001) is one of the foremost Sami artists of all time. He was awarded the Nordic Council Literature Prize in 1991. His artistic career began with joik and music in the 1960s. He drew, painted and photographed. Therefore, he can safely be called a multi-artist. On this site we present him as a writer, painter and musician.

Nils-Aslak, also known as Áillohaš, still has great significance for modern Sámi artists. The artist duo 2eina has created a show inspired by his life and art.
